The past and future of applying gridshells; Aleš Vaněk | CZ

A gridshell in the form of a double curved surface was first realized at the end of 19th century, while the surface with one curvature is known as early as the 5th century BC, when it formed the basis of the dwellings of nomadic tribes. The structural system of gridshell was researched and developed in detail under the leadership of Frei Otto in Germany, whereby a unique and magnificent realization was created - the Multihalle in Mannheim, which has stood since 1974. The author also presents his realizations within the given issues.

Mřížová skořepina byla ve formě dvojitě zakřivené plochy poprvé realizována na konci 19. století, přitom plocha s jednou křivostí je známa již z 5. století př. n. l. ,kdy tvořila základ obydlí kočovných kmenů. Konstrukční systém dvojitě zakřivených mřížových skořepin byl podrobně zkoumán a rozvíjen pod vedením Freie Otta v Německu, přičemž vznikla unikátní a velkolepá realizace - Multihalle v Mannheimu, která stojí od roku 1974 dodnes. Autor příspěvku také prezentuje své realizace v rámci dané problematiky.
