The conference is intended primarily for the presentation of experts in the field of modern design principles of lightweight structures, which are increasingly popular today, as they are durable, resistant, functional and offer a wide range of creative solutions.
The focus of the conference is closely related to the topic of architectural forms of light structures of different types and different scopes. The topic is technical and structural solutions, modern materials, design SW methods and examples of realized structures from all over the world.
The outputs of the conference will be an important guide for students of architecture and civil engineering, the professional public, engineers and architects. The topic undoubtedly affects the investors themselves and basically all those interested in modern architecture, for whom it aims to provide current information from the field.
The conference will be held in ENGLISH language.
CONFERENCE SECTIONS:
I. ARCHITECTURE AND LIGHT-WEIGHT STRUCTURE
Focused on innovative design principles of contemporary architecture, which are conceived as subtle structures made of modern materials.
Topics: Simultaneously used technical and structural solutions, wide- and small- span structures, unique structural systems.
II. MEMBRANES AND FOILS IN ARCHITECTURE
The second section is focused on the architecture of lightweight membrane structures
and on modern lightweight materials used in contemporary architecture.
Topics: Textile membranes, ETFE foils, presentation of membrane materials producers, design software.
III. REALIZATION - STORIES OF STRUCTURES
The third section includes contributions focused on interesting realizations, stories of structures/buildings from design to realization all over the world.

What Is ALK_20?
The international conference on light-weight structures follows on from the previous two conferences in 2012 and 2016.
The conference is intended primarily for the presentation of experts in the field.
The aim is to meet the professional public with experts on a common theme of modern design principles of light-weight structures, which are currently experiencing a great boom and which are enjoying an ever-increasing sacrifice, mainly due to their functional properties and high aesthetic quality.
The focus of the conference touches on the topic of architectural forms of light-weight structures of diverse types and different scopes. Related topic is technical and design solutions, that enable the implementation of unique buildings.
Speakers
The speakers at the conference are invited specialists in the field.
These are engineers, architects, manufacturers and suppliers of materials and creators of design software.
